If you have a specific requirement then the chances are you already know which model you need, and as is the case with all new models of Nikon cameras the higher up the range you explore the more megapixels are included and therefore the level of detail in the finished photographs will be sharper however going to such a high pixel count will not really effect or make a difference to standard size photos as they can only include so much detail you will find many professional photographers who use Nikon bodies will be more than covered with the level of detail that the Nikon D700 offers so unless you have a need for staggering pixel counts or image sizes the D700 will cover you for most events if you know what your looking for then you may need a camera with a higher specification if not then the D700 would be for you.
